The April Fools Club completed a 125km yomp across the Falkland Islands in February 2015 to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund. The route covered difficult terrain comprising of bog, tussock grass and basic paths. Starting at San Carlos, where the British landed in 1982, the first stop was at New House followed by Douglas Settlement and on to Teal Inlet. We then marched to Estancia before heading into the battlefields of Two Sisters, Mt Longdon and Mt Tumbledown, finally arriving in Port Stanley to raise the Union Flag over Government House in the presence of His Excellency, The Governor of the Falkland Islands and South Georgia.

The yomp raised over £200,000 including gift aid and it was the brainchild of Club President Graeme Shankland who organised and led (superbly) the expedition.

The team are pictured above on Mt. Tumbledown overlooking Port Stanley, 8000 miles away from the UK.
